A framework for families, not a tutoring service
Ordinary parents can raise extraordinary learners.
The Alice Method is an operating system for the one job schools were never built to do: sustained, individualized academic development. It combines learning science, environment design, data, school advocacy, and AI into systems any family can run — starting tonight, two minutes at a time.
The core belief
Schools are valuable. But parents dramatically overestimate what schools can accomplish academically.
What schools genuinely excel at
- Socialization
- Collaboration
- Exposure to ideas
- Friendships
- Routines
- Community
- Broad experiences
These are incredibly valuable — and they are the reason school matters. The Alice Method is a pro-parent philosophy, not an anti-school one.
What no classroom can structurally provide
Sustained, individualized instruction.
A classroom of 20–30 students means each child receives only minutes of truly individualized attention per day — in an excellent classroom, with an excellent teacher. That isn't a failure. It's arithmetic. Teachers optimize for a whole room. You optimize for one child.
Parents own academic development. Schools support it. Anything a child learns academically at school becomes a bonus — not something you passively hope will happen.
The framework
Five layers, from brain science to daily practice.
Each layer stands alone. Together they form a complete system — the science, the environment, the playbook, the advocacy, and the thinking.
Taste the method
Don't depend on motivation. Design the house.
Multiplication facts on Post-it notes, stuck to the sliding glass door. Every day, two minutes: your child pulls down the facts they've mastered. Progress becomes something you can see through.
No hour-long drills. No fights. Tiny repetitions, placed where life already happens — that's what environment design means, and it's just one of dozens of systems in the Playbook.
The sliding-glass-door wall
Tap a fact your child has mastered. Watch the door clear.
An evolving body of work
This is the beginning of something, not the whole of it.
The Alice Method is a living framework — today a site and a field manual, growing toward books, software, AI tutors, certification, teacher training, consulting, and research.
